ABOUT US (AKA: HOW TWO TIRED DUDES ACCIDENTALLY STARTED A GAME COMPANY)Back in September 2017, while most people were sensibly sleeping in beds, Alex and Mike were in Ft. Myers chainsawing fallen trees after Hurricane Irma. After a full day of pretending they knew how to wrangle lumber, they ended up sharing a tent, unable to sleep, and—because what else do you do at 2 a.m. in the dark?—started talking about their shared love of games and movies. One delirious brainstorm later… What The Film?! was born.
By early 2018, Lethal Chicken Games was officially a thing. A prototype was built, some magic happened, and by July 2018 What The Film?! was sitting pretty as a Target exclusive. (We still pinch ourselves. Gently.) Next came Camping with Sasquatch, a smash hit that continues to lurk around Amazon like a friendly forest cryptid. Fast-forward: 2023 brought Yeti Snowbrawl. 2024 unleashed Trash Dice with our pals at Big Discoveries. And 2025? Oh, we only launched FIVE games--Little Pig Little Pig, What’s Under Your Bed?, Tortilla Takedown, Dumpster Dice, and Dice Batter—because sleep is for amateurs. At Lethal Chicken Games, we make the games adults actually want to play (you know, the ones you “buy for the kids” but somehow keep “accidentally” winning). We’re family-friendly, chaos-approved, and permanently dedicated to smearing joy and silliness across kitchen tables everywhere. And yes, we’ve still got a half dozen more creations cooking. Because once you start a game company in a tent during a hurricane cleanup, you don’t stop. You just keep leveling up. |
Mike SzalajkoMike likes to say, “That’s just how my brain works… something’s probably wrong with me.” And honestly? That’s our favorite thing about him. The man’s mind is basically a chaotic idea generator with no off switch—perfect for someone who’s helped write dozens of games long before co-founding a game company of his own.
A lifelong gamer, Mike has the uncanny talent of creating brilliant games he somehow never wins. (We don’t ask questions. We just enjoy the spectacle.) Armed with a B.A. in Sports Marketing & Media from Full Sail University, Mike went on to work with WWE and Disney—proving he’s always been drawn to places where larger-than-life characters body-slam each other or burst into song. Now he puts that degree to wildly questionable use by throwing sports balls at game designers like Alex and calling it “team-building.” Mike brings the wild ideas, the deep gaming chops, and the glorious brain-wiring quirks that make Lethal Chicken’s games what they are: clever, chaotic, and just a little unhinged… in the best way. |
Alex MackeyAlex is basically a human mullet: business in the front, creative party in the back—and yes, that’s exactly the kind of hybrid superpower you want when you’re building a board game empire from scratch.
Before co-founding Lethal Chicken Games, Alex spent years wrangling media plans and marketing strategy for names like Cirque du Soleil, Precor, and Fox Television. Then he flipped the script and dove into video production, creating and editing thousands of pieces for brands such as Ferrari, Disney, Nokia, Procter & Gamble, Porsche, the Costume Designers Guild, Maserati, and more. (If it moves and has a logo, he’s probably filmed it.) Along the way, he also checked off the holy grail of indie film dreams—he had a movie premiere at Sundance. Bucket list: conquered. Most recently, Alex brought his production and storytelling powers into the video game world at Deviation Games, collaborating with top-tier developers and absorbing enough industry insight to supercharge his board game design brain even more. Now he blends strategy, creativity, and just the right amount of chaos to help craft the family-friendly, laugh-till-you-snort games Lethal Chicken is known for. And yes—he’s still very much party-in-the-back energy. |
